26 June 2025  Bosch Motorsport

Get ready to elevate your time attack performance! Bosch Motorsport Australia is proud to announce an exclusive online "Braking Technology Masterclass" featuring Sydney Motorsport Park lap record holder Barton Mawer and a Bosch Motorsport Authorised Dealer, 909 Motorsport. This essential session takes place 7:00 p.m. AEST on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, via Microsoft Teams and is designed to give teams and drivers the competitive edge as they prepare for World Time Attack Challenge 2025.

Barton Mawer is a legend on the Sydney Motorsport Park GP Circuit, having clocked up his fifth World Time Attack Challenge title in 2024 by setting the fastest ever lap of 1:17.444. As the driver behind the record-shattering RP968, a machine synonymous with WTAC dominance, Barton's expertise with braking performance is unparalleled. While RP968 won't be competing this year, Bart will be sharing his driving secrets that made it a champion, with specific insights into how he uses Bosch’s Motorsport ABS system that helped achieve those record-breaking times.

Joining Bart is Ashley Field from 909 Motorsport, a Bosch Motorsport Authorised Dealer and the technical guru who supported RP968's Motorsport ABS installation and optimisation. Ashley brings a wealth of practical knowledge and hands-on experience across Bosch Motorsport's suite of high-end electronic components.

This 90-minute masterclass will delve into the following key areas:

  • Barton Mawer's Braking Breakdown: Bart will provide an in-depth overview of braking performance, with a specific focus on SMSP, time attack cars, and driving techniques.
  • Motorsport ABS Under the Microscope: Bart and Ashley will dive into the intricacies of Motorsport ABS, exploring real-world data, discussing common setup considerations, and highlighting the impact on driving style. Learn how to maximise your braking potential with this critical technology.
  • Live Q&A: Bart, Ashley, and Bosch Motorsport staff will be on hand to answer all your burning questions about braking technology and how it can improve your WTAC performance.

The aim is simple: to equip WTAC competitors with the knowledge and tools to optimise their braking systems. By understanding and implementing the right technology, like Bosch Motorsport ABS, you can unlock valuable seconds on the track and push your limits further than ever before.

"Bosch Motorsport is proud to present this brand-new braking technology masterclass," says Blake Jones, General Manager at Bosch Motorsport Australia. "We believe in empowering racers with the latest technology and knowledge. This session provides a unique opportunity to understand how our Motorsport ABS systems can unlock significant performance gains on the track. Bart's experience, combined with Ash's technical expertise, will provide invaluable insights for anyone serious about improving their lap times at WTAC."

"We are thrilled to support this masterclass with Barton Mawer and Bosch Motorsport," says WTAC Event Director, Alain Sihaphone. "Braking is often an overlooked area of performance, but it can be the difference between winning and losing. This session will give our competitors the insights they need to make informed decisions and improve their lap times. Plus, with WTAC only being a couple of months away, this session couldn't come at a better time."

Don't miss this incredible opportunity to learn from the best and gain a competitive advantage! July 3rd is rapidly approaching, so secure your spot now. Prepare to elevate your braking game and dominate on the track 2025!
